CLASSIC ANTIQUE GOLD OVAL FRAMES

| These classic gold wire rim oval antique eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The
right bridge arm is marked a ''G'' with a star in it and the glasses are otherwise unmarked. Though not indicated by
a frame mark, the frame is 14 karat gold-filled according to the tag and based
on how nicely they polished, I believe this is true.  |

These are super ovals by the Geneva Optical Company out of Chicago, dating from
around the turn of the century. They've never been worn, never had lenses and still have their original tag, too!
The finish is fantastic throughout. The up-swept bridge joints are a really nice detail, the bridge is smooth all
over and the temples are cable their full length with a fine ball tip, another neat detail. The screws are tested and working properly and a treat for me to see, completely as they came from the factory without any marring in the slots. Superb ovals, ready for lenses after a century's wait!

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of oval shapes for this frame. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
