These are unused vintage stock, never been worn, never had lenses, manufactured by Style-Rite Optics out of New York, probably in the 1950's. The model is called the Gibson and this is the Mocha color. They're fantastic combination frames with chromed aluminum brows and temples and gold-filled rims and bridge. This is one of my favorite combination frames. Aluminum makes for a very strong frame and the Style-Rite aluminum frames have the added benefit of coated temple tips instead of hard plastic. Less slipping, more comfort and easily replaced down the road, too. Notice that great taper shape to the temples and of course, you can't miss those shields at the corners, perfect for a drive in your '57 Chevy! Remarkable frames!

Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. In the detailed photo
of the left corner of the front of the frames you'll see a wrinkle in the chrome finish just below the rivet head. It's small and if you look at the photo
of the entire frame from the front, you'll see it's not a noticeable mark. It's not a scratch, but a small wave in the finish, possibly a function of the aluminum beneath the chrome. It's a small wrinkle, but I give the full
report and that's why I've graded them excellent instead of mint, which
otherwise, they are. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
