These classic men's black plastic vintage eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame is stamped ''50 22'' and the arms read ''Imperial 6 USA''. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and the metal rivet shields shine.
This is Imperial Optical's ''Mohawk'' model in jet black, dating from the middle to later 1950s. This frame is unused vintage stock, never worn, never had lenses and will come complete with the paper frame envelope. This is one well-made frame: strong, seven-barrel hinges, snug - no wobble, stout temples and thick rims. No fooling around here. These are made to last. Note also that this pair is a generous size with a goodly temple length, all the better for those of us with big noggins. Great pair of frames, ready to go!
Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. I describe any flaws found while cleaning, but there are no problems to report with this pair. (If you disagree with my assessment, send them back for a full refund including the shipping paid, too!) I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
