CLASSIC VINTAGE GOLD A-C P3 FUL-VUE FRAMES

 SOLD

 Measurements

These classic gold wire rim vintage eyeglasses are in excellent condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''ARTCRAFT 1/10 12K GF FUL-VUE'' and the arms read ''ARTCRAFT NOKOROD 1/10 12K GF''. The markings mean the frame is 12 karat gold-filled. The bridge, frame and arms are all engraved with an alternating diamond pattern.

This is the traditional Art Craft Ful-Vue, made from the 1930s into the present day, though they have changed over the years. This one likely dates from the middle to later 1940s. The filigree is matching throughout, indicating this frame is probably all-original. The hinges give good resistance, the temple coverings are in outstanding shape and the nose pads are a smooth zyl with the traditional mother of pearl coloration. Notice also the fine beading on the hinges, a detail dropped in later versions of this frame, incidentally, a predecessor to the contemporary ArtCraft 100A frame. Nice pair of glasses, ready for use.

How to measure for vintage frames.

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. The typical style for this frame is a near-round lens often called a ''P3'' shape. Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Also remember that temples can be changed, so if this length isn't quite right for you, let me know - I may have a matching pair! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

They have adjustment markings at the hinges and pad arms, typical for any fitted frame and the pads have some scuffing on their surface, minor, still smooth and not visible when worn. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
