These classic men's black plastic vintage eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame is stamped ''46 24'' and the arms read ''SRO 5 3/4 USA''. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and the metal sheilds shine.

These are unused vintage stock, never been worn, never had lenses, manufactured by Style-Rite Optics out of New York, probably in the early 1950s. Great keyhole bridge, strong seven barrel hinges, rounded rims and flat-tip temples, too. Really fantastic frames in mint condition, ready to go.

Just a quick note about these frames: I get quite a few inquiries looking for the same frame James Dean wore. I've never found a clear enough photo to make out exactly what he was was wearing, but if these are the same model frame in black then they're very close.

How to measure for vintage frames.

Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Also remember that temples can be changed, so if this length isn't quite right for you, let me know - I may have a matching pair! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

I describe any flaws found while cleaning, but these are unused stock and there are are no problems to report with this pair. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and can honestly say these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
