These classic men's black plastic vintage eyeglasses are in excellent condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame is stamped ''USS 48 24'' and the arms read ''ROMCO 4 1/2 - 5 3/4''. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and the metal
rectangles shine.

These are military issue ''S-9'' frames from the 1950s and on into the 1960s. They're well-made, strong frames and this pair has a nice finish. Nice keyhole bridge, rectangle rivets and that horn-rimmed silhouette. The hinges are nice and tight and the bridge is smooth and clean. These frames are in excellent
condition. Great frames, ready to go. PLEASE
NOTE: I do have other sizes of this same frame, from 46-20 (that's the lens width - bridge width) up to 50-22 and many of the sizes in between. Please do inquire if you're looking for another
size!

How
to measure for vintage frames. |
Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Also remember that temples can be changed, so if this length isn't quite right for you, let me know - I may have a matching pair! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. This frame has a nick on the right temple, but it's minor stuff (see side view photo). I'm particular about condition so there are no surprises and can honestly say these glasses are in excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
