These classic gold round Windsor-style eyeglasses are in brand new mint condition and ready for your prescription lenses. The arms are stamped ''FRAME MADE IN ENGLAND ALGHA CE'' and the glasses are otherwise unmarked.

This is a newly minted frame made in England by Algha Works, a wonderful manufacturer. You may know them by their Savile Row eyewear, a famous line seen in movies, on movie stars, rock stars and even worn by the Queen. Algha Works has been in the eyeglass business since the 1930s and they have roots back to the 1920s. They still make frames using many of the same tools and techniques, these frames included! These have the traditional Windsor bridge and round rims and they're gold plated.

This frame has skull temples, but I also carry them with a cable temple. They can also be fitted with plastic covers on the rims. (Here's one with black rims, but feel free to inquire if you're looking for a traditional tortoise shell design or perhaps a wild color or design in the rims. Truly wonderful frames I'm proud to offer, made in the style, tradition and quality of the antiques I generally handle.

How to measure for vintage frames.

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. This style is worn round, but can also be worn with nearly round lenses or other shapes. Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.
