| | These classic men's black plastic eyeglasses are
brand new, mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses.
The Apollo is available in a large variety of
sizes and three colors, but in the photos on this page, you're looking at a
52-20 frame. It's marked ''52 20'' and the arms read ''Criss U.S.A. 5 3/4
NYLON''. Other sizes are marked according to size, the same
way.

This is the Criss Apollo frame, still made today by Criss Optical out of Kansas.
Criss supplied frames to the US military and still does. Their frames are made of Nylon instead of the usual eyeglasses frame material, which is called ''Zyl'' plastic. Nylon is much, much more flexible than Zyl, which will bend to a point, but then breaks unless heated in a frame warmer. Nylon, on the other hand, can be nearly twisted
almost into a pretzel without breaking!! It comes right back to the original shape, too! These frames are really tough stuff!

Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.The
frames are made by injection molding the Nylon and as a result will have some
bubbles and scratches from the old molds. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and
your frames will be inspected in detail. They make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
