CLASSIC GOLD NEW COTTET P3 FUL-VUE FRAMES

 SOLD

 Measurements

These classic gold wire rim vintage eyeglasses are in unused, mint condition and ready for your prescription lenses. The arms are stamped ''COTTET  MADE IN FRANCE 1899  50-19  140'' and the glasses are otherwise unmarked. The bridge has two light beaded lines and the rest of the frame is without engraving.

New, new, new. These are new frames and one might wonder why they're in the Optometrist Attic, a fair question. (Well, maybe not technically new, as in 2007, but they're probably at most 15 years old... mere babies compared to the vintage frames you generally find in the Attic!) I have to tell you, I get so many requests for larger lens sizes that it's really nice to have a frame with (1) a 50 mm lens width and a generous hinge to hinge and (2) a simple, well-done filigree pattern. These frames by Cottet have both and they're well made. Another bit of trivia is that this bridge silhouette is one used often by B&L back in the 1940's, so they're a nice little addition to the Attic and the price is right, too!

Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary by maker. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

If you're partial to cable temples, retro-fit cable conversion ends are shown below. I'm careful about condition so there are no surprises and can honestly say these glasses will be in top condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.

Plastic cable conversion ends are shown below in black, though I also keep them in brown. I've done quite a few of these for folks and they seem to like them. You can purchase the ends un-installed or have me do the installation. There's more about them on the temples page.
