These classic vintage gold Saxon metal eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''54 - 20'' and the arms read ''145 SAXON BY JOY FRAME JAPAN''.
What a super frame! This is the Saxon model. It's unused vintage stock, never been worn and never had lenses. It had an old paper tag that said ''Sloane Opt. Saxon'', but the temples are engraved ''SAXON BY JOY'' so I'm not sure which is which, but either way, it's a neat frame, most certainly dating from the 1970s. Great brushed metal details on the bridge piece and the hinges, with the bridge styling echoed by the slots in the temples. Nice, thick temple tips and the original, period clip-on nose pads with gold centers. (Replaceable using Attic clip-on nose pads in the Parts area of the site.) Really cool and ready for lenses!
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
