These classic vintage gold metal eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''56 - 18'' and the arms read ''USA 5 1/2''.
These are some super-cool, big, 1970s frames. They're unused stock, never worn or had lenses. I believe they're by Continental Optical, probably from middle of the decade. They have clean, clip-on nose pads, so easily replaced. The bridge and temples have a great line pattern, suggestive of the old AO Liner, perhaps. The temples are fashionably thick and the temples tips are big, black and comfortable. Ready for service with your bell-bottoms and at the disco!
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
