These classic vintage silver AO Stylegard II metal eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''AO 52 Z87'' and the arms read ''Z87 AO STYLEGARD II 140''.
This is the AO Stylegard II, a super metal frame by American Optical, built in the later 1970s. It's a nice big frame with strong five barrel hinges, very cool, broad temples, brushed metal finish on the bridge and temples and smoke-grey temple tips. A really classic 1970s frame. It's marked ''Z87'' which indicates it was built as a safety frame, so it's a tough one, sure to give years of trusty service. Great frames, ready for lenses!
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
