These classic gold wire rim oval antique eyeglasses are in really excellent condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''S-Q STEVENS & CO'' and the glasses are otherwise unmarked. Though not indicated by the markings, it's a good bet the frame is 12 karat gold-filled, as are most from the period. Another indicator is the lack of any corrosion or greening. The glasses have a smooth, simple design with no engraving.

Great ovals from Stevens and Company in nice shape and with truly wonderful straight temples, finished in a broad scoop. Top notch frames from tip to tip. The hinges are nice and tight and the bridge is smooth and clean. These frames are in really excellent condition.

How to measure for vintage frames.

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of oval shapes for this frame. Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Also remember that temples can be changed, so if this length isn't quite right for you, let me know - I may have a matching pair! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

Minor and matching adjustment markings on each temple, the hinges and the bridge arms. This is typical in any frame fitted for lenses, but I give the full report. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in really excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
