These classic gold round wire rim antique eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''12 KT 1/20 G.F.'' and the arms read ''U.S.A. Imperial 5 1/2 12 KT. 1/20 G.F.''. The markings mean the frame is 12 karat gold-filled. Great round wire frames from Imperial Optical out of Hialeah, Florida. The model name is
''College Round'' and they're yellow gold filled, unused, mint condition, likely made in the middle to later 1960s. Most will come to you with the paper frame envelope, too. Note the nice detail around rims, keystone detail at the hinges, simple bridge and nice, clear nose pads. The screws are tested and working well. Great frames, ready to go!
Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. This style is worn round, but can also be worn with nearly round lenses or other shapes. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
If you have any questions about this pair of glasses or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I try to answer all questions promptly.
