These classic Anglo American black plastic eyeglasses are brand new, mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The arms are marked ''Anglo American Optical Frame England ce MOD 400 BLK 42-20'' and the other size is marked accordingly. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and the metal decorations shine.

These are true classics hand made by Anglo American Optical in England. These are the traditional round horn rimmed frame, made popular in the US by comedian Harold Lloyd during the 1920s and into the 1930s. It's one of the earliest styles of plastic frames and interestingly enough, this pair is from one of the earliest makers in the business, Anglo American Optical, established in London in 1882. These frames not only have the same profile as those early ones, but their construction is the same, too. The rivets extend all the way through the frames and temples, just like the old ones. The hinges are the traditional five-barrels, nice and strong. The bridge is shaped to fit comfortably and the temples are a nice, generous contemporary length. They're great frames, ready to decades of fashionable service.

Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

I'm occasionally asked if these are authentic Anglo American frames and yes, they really are. They carry the manufacturer warranty. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
