These classic men's black plastic eyeglasses are in unused stock, mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame is marked ''48 x 21'' and the arms read ''Criss U.S.A. NYLON 5 3/4''. The plastic has a nice sheen and those diamond rivet shields shine bright.

These great frames are from Criss Optical and the model name is The Yank. Those cool diamond rivets are their old design, no longer in production. While Criss still makes the Yank, they now use a different rivet shape. The diamond rivet is the original design from back when they were first introduced, so these are a fun find, very classic. Criss supplied frames to the US military and still does. Their frames are made of Nylon instead of the usual eyeglasses frame material, which is called ''Zyl'' plastic. Nylon is much, much more flexible than Zyl and can be nearly twisted into a pretzel without breaking!! It comes right back to the original shape, too! These frames are really tough stuff and mighty good looking, too.

Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

Check out the original pamphlet that came with Criss frames back when! It's from my own personal museum of optical paraphernalia so will not come along with your frames, but it's fun to see and still has good advice for maintaining your frames! 

All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. The Yank makes make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses. Great frames!
