These classic tortoise plastic eyeglasses are brand new, mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frame in the photos is marked ''50 22'' and the arms read ''SHURON USA SIDEWINDER 5 3/4''. Other sizes are marked accordingly. The plastic has a nice sheen and the silver rivet heads shine bright.
This is the Shuron Sidewinder frame, brand new from Shuron. Very classic design, essentially unchanged since back in the 1950s and still made with real rivets, strong five-barrel hinges and a great zyl. Broad temples, keyhole bridge, and silver, double-dot hinge rivets. Great frames, solidly built, classic design, ready to go.
Temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Please be advised that the 20 mm bridge on this model runs narrow. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. The tortoise Sidewinders come in all the sizes listed above and there are two different temple lengths: 145 mm (5 3/4'') and 150 mm (6''). They also have a cable temple option available in silver or gold. They're what Shuron calls their ''Aztec cable'' and you can see it used on one of their other frames here. Sidewinders also come in black and the newly introduced, very cool, fades. I'm thorough about condition on all frames I offer, even the new classics, so there aren't any surprises and your Sidewinders will be inspected thoroughly before they ship to you. They make great everyday glasses or very cool sunglasses.
If you have any questions about Sidewinders or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I try to answer all questions promptly.
