These classic gold wire rim vintage eyeglasses are in excellent condition and ready for your prescription lenses. The bridge is marked ''AO 1/10 12K GF'' and the arms read ''CM 1/10 12K GF''. The markings mean the frame is 12 karat gold-filled. The bridge and rims are engraved with a repeating ray and diagonal pattern and the arms have an alternating leaf pattern.

These are by American Optical, a Ful-Vue frame probably dating from the later 1930s. Nice filigree definition and design on the bridge and a broad, solid joint at the rims for a strong bridge. The hinges are nice and tight and the nose pads are smooth, with a nice mother of pearl finish These frames are in excellent condition.

How to measure for vintage frames.

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. The typical style for this frame is a near-round lens often called a ''P3'' shape. Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

There are typical minor adjustment marks and two very small matching finish wear spots on the very tips of the pad arms where they hold the pad, but this is quite small and not visible when worn. I'm picky about condition so there are no surprises and can honestly say these glasses are in excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
