These classic gold round wire rim antique eyeglasses are in really excellent condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''GF SHUR-ON'' and the backs of the pads are marked ''GOLD SHUR-ON PAT 2 11 18''. The markings mean the frame is 12 karat gold-filled.

Remarkable pair of frames in superb condition. They're from Shuron Optical and date from the late 'Teens or early Twenties, confirmed by the patent date on the back of the gold nose pads. Dark burgundy rim covers in nice shape,
the hinges are nice and tight, a generous lens diameter and temple length, and that great, early-model bridge design in such great condition. Take a look at the way the pad rivets are finished: little works of art.
These frames are in really excellent condition.

How
to measure for vintage frames. |
Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. This style is worn round, but can also be worn with nearly round lenses or other shapes. Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame. Also remember that temples can be changed, so if this length isn't quite right for you, let me know - I may have a matching pair! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. There's light finish wear on the insides of the temples at the ears, not visible when worn and spot of finish loss at the left ear. All minor, but I give the full report report. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in really excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
